The CBD industry is ever-expanding and no matter where you are, you are faced with numerous CBD products with no idea of what is what. If you want to try CBD, there are a lot of products that will cater to your needs. No matter your problem there will exist a product for you which suits you. For people with a sweet tooth, gummies are available; for regular travelers, there are capsules; for those who want a fast-acting shot, a CBD vape will do the job.

We will divide the CBD products with two categories; core products and sub products.

Core Products

These forms of CBD are standalones, and every product on the market containing CBD is created using a CBD extract or an isolate.

CBD Extract

CBD Extract is an oily substance that contains cannabis plant materials (fatty acids, cannabinoids, terpenoids) and is designed to provide the maximum medical benefits. CBD Extract is sold as a standalone product, but is also used as an ingredient in other products. It is commonly sold in a syringe or a similar container. It allows you to accurately dose the substance. A high quality extract is called full spectrum since it preserves the full range of components found in the plant.

How is it made?

To make a CBD Extract, Hemp sources are used that are high in CBD and low in THC. A low temperature extraction method is used that results in raw extract which contains the acid form of the cannabinoids including THCA and CBDA. These acids are not activated and therefore do not interact with the body in the same manner as non-acid forms. Through decarboxylation, the cannabinoids extracted are heated and finally activated. This removes the acid molecule from the cannabinoid. This is what turns CBDA to active CBD form in the case of cannabidiol. Through more purification and filtering, the plant material, waxes, and other fatty acids are removed which leaves us with a more purified extract. This increases the concentration of CBD in the extract.

How are CBD extracts used?

Mostly, these extracts are used as an ingredient in a wide range of products. If used as a standalone product, this extract is a potent form of CBD medicine. It can be used by placing under the tongue or can just be swallowed.

CBD Isolate

CBD Isolate is pure isolated CBD. It comes in either white powder form or slab, and contains 99% potency of the single cannabinoid compound. People prefer isolated because they contain no THC. To create an isolate, full spectrum CBD extract is processed. It results in a CBD isolate which is then used as an ingredient in our products.

Isolated CBD Effectiveness:

Though pure form of CBD sounds very effective, in actuality, this is not the case. Isolated CBD is less effective than full spectrum extracts. Even though isolate is less effective, many people prefer it especially when it is used as an additive to increase CBD potency.

Benefits of Isolate:

Some common benefits of using CBD isolate are:

  • Low Cost
  • No THC
  • Versatile

How is it used?

Similar to CBD extract, isolate binds to fatty acids. This means that in water, the substance doesn’t dissolve.

It is commonly used in:

  • Carrier oil to create an isolate CBD oil tincture
  • Capsules
  • Edibles
  • Smoking
  • Marijuana products to increase CBD concentration.

Sub Products:

These CBD Products are designed for special cases. Each of these is made using an isolate or an extract as a base to provide CBD and other cannabis extracts. All of these products are designed for specific needs and all carry different properties.

Beauty Products

CBD is quickly becoming a popular ingredient in beauty products. CBD offers additional benefits to these traditional products that help users reduce aches, swelling and provide soothing and relaxing properties.

Some common CBD beauty products are:

  • Bath Bombs
  • Toners
  • Masks
  • Moisturizing Gels/Lotions/Creams
  • Soaps
  • Shampoo/Conditioner
  • Lip Balm
  • Serums

Capsules

These capsules are simply used as pills that can be swallowed like any other supplement. They come in either two-piece capsule or softgels. Some main types of capsules are: powder containing capsule, liquid containing oil-based capsule.

Ingredients:

The content vary from company to company but contain the following ingredients:

  • CBD Extract/Isolate

This is the key ingredient. High quality capsules will have extracts that come from high quality hemp source. If full/broad spectrum base is used, it will give maximum benefit. Isolate based capsules aren’t as effective.

  • Carrier Oil (Hemp, Coconut, MCT)

An oil carrier is used to increase the ability to absorb the cannabinoids that are in the capsules. CBD and other cannabinoids are fat soluble, this means that they break down and bind to fats like the ones in hemp, coconut of MCT oil. Being stored in fat, CBD and other cannabinoids are more effectively absorbed by the body.

  • Optional Ingredients
There are other ingredients that can be found in the supplements including some herbs and additives. They provide additional benefits but do not influence the benefits of the CBD content.

Benefits of capsules:

  • Easy to use
  • Long lasting effect
  • Accurate dosing
  • No taste of marijuana

How effective are they?

When taking a substance orally, it passes through liver which reduces the concentration. This is why only a small amount of CBD compound will actually pass into the bloodstream as compared to other methods. The dosage recommendations for capsules will thus be higher as compared to other effective methods.

There are still benefits of capsules that make it worth investing in. They are the easiest method of taking CBD and the effects are long lasting. The dosage can simply be increased and receive the same benefits as other methods.

Concentrates

Concentrates are extracts of hemp with high potency since they contain a higher level of cannabidiol. These products come in different types depending on the method used, and the extract. Mostly users use concentrates to ingest CBD via dabbing.

Effectiveness:

One of the best ways to ingest CBD is to inhale it. Within 2 – 5 minutes, the effect kicks in and it can last up to 3 hours. This method is preferred by many CBD users, but also disliked due to the inhalation.

How to use them

Concentrated are intended to be smoked, or dabbed using a dab rig or a vaporizer. A small amount of concentrate is heated and inhaled to provide instant benefit and relief to the user.

Types:

Various types of concentrates exist depending on the method of extraction used:

Crumble: created by using oils from a cannabis extract.

Shatter: created by infusing terpenes into isolate slabs.

Wax: Concentrates that have a wax like composure.

Terpsolate: created by infusing terpenes into isolate powder.

Drinks

Even though CBD cannot be dissolved in water, there are newer types of water-friendly CBD products that are being developed. Now you can find an extensive range of CBD-based drinks such as bottled CBD water, powdered drink mixes and energy shots.

Edibles

CBD edibles are made for people who want something fun. They commonly come in the form of candies or baked goods, such as cookies, chocolates, gummies or more. The main benefit of using edibles is the ease of use it has and how it masks the CBD taste. This means, almost anyone will try CBD.

Effectiveness:

Their effectiveness depends on the contents used. Low effectiveness is a result of:

  • Being processed by the liver, which reduces concentration and therefore effectiveness.
  • Being made from CBD Isolate which doesn’t give the boost like full spectrum extract.

Pet Products

Benefits of CBD are not limited to humans. Dogs, cats and other animals can use it too. There are many products made for pets from treats to tinctures which help improve pet’s life. They are specifically designed for animals and come with application methods. Some product types are:

  • Capsules
  • Tinctures
  • Sprays
  • Treats

Vape Products

Vaping CBD is not different than vaping something else. The extract is vaporized using a mod/pen and inhaled. This is the quickest method of inhaling CBD. There are numerous CBD vape products in the market including:

  • Cartridges:
These cartridges are pre-filled with CBD extract. All you have to do is screw the cartridge on and start vaping. You can find both disposable and refillable cartridges.
  • Vape Pens:
This is the easiest way to start vaping CBD for a beginner. These pens come with pre-filled CBD oil. Simply keep vaping till the tank is empty, and throw away the pen.
  • E-liquids/Vape Oil:
This is the liquid content that is heated, turned to vapor and then inhaled. It is used to refill mods or vape pens.

Water Soluble CBD

CBD and water do not mix but due to recent technology, companies have managed to produce water soluble CBD products. Some of these include:

  • Water Soluble Capsules:
these are created using water-soluble CBD extract. The capsules are 5 times more effective.
  • Water Soluble Hemp Powder:
This allows the user to mix CBD into anything since powder dissolves into water. This is why it can be combined with food, liquids and more.
  • Water Soluble Tinctures:

Tinctures are created using water soluble CBD extract and is 5 times more effective.

  1. Hi, I purchased the golden goat disposable yesterday and it is not charging. Is there any way I can switch it out for a new one? It was only used once before needing a charge and not working. I am out of town until monday but can come then

  2. I’m a fan of the Dragon Fruit Delta Eight THC: 420+5mg (17pc / 25 mg). What is the meaning of formula in it’s name? It’s been out of stock lately, so what’s a comparable product? Lastly, will it be in stock any time soon?

  3. Really good information. Right to the point. I’m happy with my CBD disposable ( CBD Pharm ) I’ll eventually be a customer here. With that being said my pen says Sativa. It’s the disposable that’s on the website now “hot” melon j think. I’ve smoked CBD a bunch of times, but there has to be something else in it. 3 drags and I was bent. I saw CBD Pharm and thought it was all CBD. Cheers.
